i just recently got my itouch from a guy on craigslist. the first day i brought it home, i was able to connect to my home wi-fi connection perfectly. but the next day i couldnt. since then i havent been able to connect. but i can connect to the one that has no security password. why cant i connect? ive read alot about this problem and it seems like a pandemic o.0 i get the ip adress and the subnet mask, but no router, DNS, Search Domain, or Client ID. please help! it says that i cant connect to the internet. i restarted my router and it didnt help. i restarted the ipod twice and it didnt help.

scratch that, i dont have an ip address or subnet mask.

well now i do. its 169.254.84.121 i dont understand, i have 3 computers in the house, and 2 of them are laptops. the wi-fi is fine on these, aswell as my xbox LIVE but not my itouch..? its werid because it lets me connect to the internet connection down the street, which i get disconnected from all the time, but not the one in my own home..?

never mind sorry for posting this. my stepfather added my ipods mac address to his wireless connection and it gave me the rest of the wi-fi information that i needed.

to do this you must:
1. go to settings
2. click on 'general'
3. click on 'about' and your mac address is the Wi-Fi Address
4. add this to your router connection page (i honestly dont know what its really called but if you need more info, ill find it out) and you will be able to connect to your network from your itouch!
