I have seen so many postings and not sure where to go anymore with this problem. I'll create a ticket with cisco and apple.

New ipod touch g3, latest firmware, connect to my old d-link just fine. Old d-link dies and bought a new linksys WRT160N. Can see network on the ipod but get "unable to join the network message" now.

I have used all three security settings and change from mixed mode to wireless g, wirless b and bg mixed. I have reset the ipod network settings to default numerous times.

It is frustrating, new technology should work. Any ideas on where to go from here?
Thanks,
Kathy

to all, if you buy a new wireless router and have many wireless devices in you home then Cisco recommended to me to set the wireless mode to manual, use the mixed mode and set the channel to 6. Now my laptop, ipod touch and wii all work flawlessly with the linksys wrt160n.

Cicso tech support says setting a channel prevents any confusion on the wireless devices and the cisco router. It works really good now, so try it out.
