Has functioned perfectly for a year until now...

So I have had my 32 gig 2nd gen ipod touch for more than year now and it has worked like a dream. But all of a sudden the wireless has stopped working. No matter where I am I can't even get a wireless signal of any strength. I'm thinking there might be a problem with the internal antenna, or that's what a friend told me, but don't want to send it in for service before I get some more opinions on the trouble. Please HELP!
